We can all be heroes: giving blood saves lives
A single blood donation can save up to three lives. It's a simple, quick and safe gesture, but one with an enormous impact on the life of someone who needs it most.
Every day, hospitals depend on blood transfusions to treat patients undergoing surgery, accidents, cancer treatments, birth complications and many other clinical situations. Blood cannot be manufactured – it depends solely on the generosity of voluntary donors.
Donating blood is an act of solidarity that takes no more than a few minutes of your time, but can make all the difference to someone fighting for their life. It is a genuine act of humanity, open to anyone who meets the conditions to donate.
On 23 February, the Portuguese Institute for Blood and Transplantation (IPST) will be at our premises to run a blood collection drive among our employees, offering another opportunity to actively contribute to this important cause.
If you have never donated blood, this could be the right time to start. If you are already a donor, your ongoing contribution is essential to keeping reserves available at all times.
🩸 Give blood. Save lives. Be a hero every day.
